Life
Stands Shortby
Nerissa Bradley, Windsor, Canada, Age 14
Lying out towards the sun
In that perfect time of day
Basking in warmest light
Just before sun sends for night
And life has lived until darkness falls
And company assists
While others waste there daily days
By trying to resist
I've sent for winters and sent for cold
In trying to move on
When all the while I wanted only to be here and belong
Yet I cant seem to stay inside
When nature calls to me
I dig the
casket deeper down and keep my secrecy
Existence is a mystery a constant unknown strange
It strives to cease and plows along until its time has aged I've
met my
destiny before And I have shunned it twice And now recurrence of
my actions
I'm sure is not suffice
I seal my heart that needs repair
My time has only love to spare
I've read my love story once before
And in throwing it away
My time might wait another minute
Or just another
day
