Alta Moda – Casa Miami Takeover

Casa Moda Miami

Meant to evoke the spirit of the gilded baroque era, Dolce & Gabbana are showcasing their unique and extravagant Alta Moda brand in Miami. The showcase will focus on fashion for men and women, as well as watchmaking, jewelry, and interiors. Like Alta Moda events of the past, this showcase promises to be a lesson in splendor with many A-list celebrities in attendance.

Alta Moda – Miami Style

Since launching the Alta Moda line ten years ago, the duo has honed the practice of assembling lavish fashion shows meant for exclusive audiences. After using Southern Italy and the Mediterranean for inspiration for years, their focus has now turned to South America and the southern US.

Although Miami has changed over the last few decades, its beautiful weather and rapid development still attract individuals from all over the country. Miami serves as a crossroads for many, and it is a unique place where American and Latin American cultures coexist simultaneously.

The Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda exhibit will be held in the Four Seasons Surf Club on November 29. The theme is Latin American culture from an outsider’s perspective, utilizing aspects of the culture, such as traditional dress. Although the exhibit aims to take guests to South America, casting for the show was done locally.

Showcasing roughly 100 looks, 40 from Alta Sartoria and 60 from Alta Moda, the exhibit will be held salon-style. Each piece of clothing is handmade, with some dresses taking up to six months to create. The ultimate goal of Alta Moda, as well as the other Alta lines, is to preserve the traditional artisan way of making clothes.

The team responsible for the show is composed of members from various generations, with many in their 20s and 30s. This new generation of fashion experts offers a different perspective and expresses an in-depth interest in craftsmanship.

A New Approach

The fatto a mano approach, which refers to the tradition of working from Bottegas, is employed not only for Alta Moda, but the Alta Gioielleria and Alta Orologeria collections as well. Both of these collections will be displayed at Design Miami. This exhibit will utilize a Midas theme, and Dolce & Gabbana will stay in residence at the Luxury Living Store where two new motifs will be introduced: Oro 24k and DG Logo. The Oro 24k motif is inspired by the pair’s Portofino property – Villa Bianco.

The Villa Bianco is famous for its golden mosaic living room, with coordinated furnishings and mesh curtains. On December 2nd, Dolce & Gabbana will be hosted by Emilio and Gloria Estefan at their Cardozo Hotel on Ocean Drive.
