Ginuwine Pushes Through To Success

ginuwine

R&B artist Ginuwine is more than a good-looking, successful entertainer. He’s an inspiration—he had to face and overcome tough times before attaining his goals.

“The toughest thing was probably the passing of my father,” he says, “and then a year after that, the passing of my mother. That was the toughest thing I had to overcome.”

But Ginuwine made it through. He knows in this competitive world, without drive you will definitely stall. “[Lots of people are] willing to take your place. So you’ve got to push yourself, period. In life, it’s so easy to give up. You have to push yourself if you want to establish something in the business or just in life.”

He encourages, “Never let somebody tell you what you can’t do, because youcan. I’m living proof of that. There’s so many people that told me I can’t do it. But I just always felt like I got to take this chance and go out to New York and try to do it. I didn’t want to get older and then always feel like ‘Dang man, I coulda did it. I coulda did it.’”

It’s not enough to have a dream—you have to pursue it. Just as Ginuwine did. “Do all you can,” he says. “Even when you fail, pick yourself back up. The worst thing you can do is not try.”
