STREETDANCE 2 Has The Right Moves (And Sofia Boutella)

Twice the moves. Twice the passion.

After an embarrassing attempt to battle the reigning street dance champions by himself, streetdancer Ash (Falk Hentshel) and his new friend/manager (George Sampson, winner of Britain’s Got Talent) attempt to put together a crew and go head to head once again. Mixing street with Latin, Ash teams up with Salsa dancer Eva (Sofia Boutella) to produce a whole new fusion for a whole new generation.

Here’s the run down:

Comedy: The eclectic mix of dancers in the new crew make for some hilarious dance scenes (watch for the pillow fight).

Romance: A rare beauty with talent and grace, plus a boy from the wrong side of the tracks? Hello, sparks!

Action: Dance is obviously the centre of this film and the action of those scenes is incredible. You will blown away by the dance numbers–especially the ones with the Latin influence.

streetdance 2 Sofia Boutella

Faze caught up with one of the stars of the film, Sofia Boutella, who told us all about the fun she had on set of StreetDance 2.

Sophia began dancing when she was only 5 years old and decided to make it a career when she was a teen, at 18 or 19. “I dance every day, but Sunday, from 9 in the morning to 7pm or 8pm,” she says.

That’s a commitment she shares with Eva, the dancer she plays on screen. According to Sofia, they have the same “commitment, the passion and fireā€”for dance and for life in general.”

Her advice for others who want to make it big in the world of dance? “Commit and have fun with it and work hard as well,” she says.

Now that filming is over, Eva is back dancing in the theatre, studying her craft more and going out to auditions, hopefully landing another movie soon, since she had so much fun on this one!
