The Junction Release “Grievances”: From Break-up to Break-out

Even if they try to conceal the truth, The Junction’s new album Grievances is unmistakably a break-up record.

After ending his long-term relationship, lead vocalist and guitarist Brent Jackson devastatingly poured his heart and soul into the lyrics of this ten-track album to produce an emotional and moving record.

The title of the album alone screams with the pain of the real life hardship Brent faced while working on the songs. Lyrics such as, “in the search for lovers you may be let down” and, “I sit so lonely tonight” (in the track “Factions”), in addition to, “my heart is no longer yours” (in the track “Loneliness”) are undeniably Brent’s honest grief.

As for the style of the album, Grievances has the ability to be an extremely versatile record: listeners on the road to recovery may find comfort from heartache here, but it can still be enjoyed solely for the sound. The songs are catchy and interesting, and turning up the volume is easy and fun on tracks like “Dispositions” and “Ashes.” The guitar solos—in addition to the bass and drums on the tracks (played by fellow band members Michael “Tip” Taylor and Matthew Jameson)—are impressive and enjoyable.

The Junction has created a captivating and exciting third album, so whether it was intended to be a break-up record or just a great listen, The Junction has a done a fantastic job of creating an authentic rock vibe that their fans will love.

Grievances was released by The Junction on March 6th 2012, and is now on iTunes and in stores for purchase.
