Take it like a girl!
As you’ve noticed, Faze is evolving. The cover has a great new look and within the magazine you’ll notice even more changes.
I had no intentions to redesign the cover at this time—however, you made it loud and clear that it needed an overhaul. Sometimes (okay, most times) criticism is tough to take, but it’s one of the ways we grow. So, of course, we didn’t take it personally and listened to your suggestions. I hope you like the results. As always, let me know how we’re doing at editor@faze.ca.
Criticism is a good thing—especially when it comes from the right people. If you want to become a better person (as I’m hoping you do), then get ready to take it like a girl! Be tough, stand tall and walk up to your best friend, sister, boss, mom and dad, and say, “What’s wrong with me?!”
Seriously, ask those individuals that you know really care about you and have seen you become an amazing human being, and ask them how you can be more outstanding than you are. Be prepared for their hopefully diplomatic responses (not that they should need to sugar-coat things for you) and really listen to what they have to say. Maybe you’ve never noticed that you dominate a conversation, or that you are sometimes too quick to anger, or perhaps that you’re not a very good listener, but these are things you need to know if you’re going to become a truly outstanding person.
Now, you have to promise yourself not to get defensive or overly sensitive about the feedback. In fact, promise not to say a word. Just listen. Remind yourself that this is coming from someone who cares about you, so say “thanks,” walk away and let it digest slowly. Hopefully, you’ll take the “suggestions” to heart and make changes where necessary. Trust me, everyone wins!.
