Canadian R&B Singer JRDN Is On Top Of His Game

JRDN

Up-and-coming Canadian R&B artist JRDN will even let you drive his Caddy—when he gets one! Or at least that’s how he closes a new track on his latest album, which he hopes to release later this spring.

We caught up with JRDN after his performance at the CP Records benefit for Haiti. It was his first performance in Toronto, and his first time showing an audience his new material, so naturally he was excited—but also to help make a difference.

He tells Faze, “I’ll be able to look back and say that it went towards something really tragic, but something that I can be proud of. We should be trying to help each other as much as possible.”

When asked what keeps him on top of his game on tour and in the studio, he points to skills learned in basketball as the ones that have helped him most; that determination and persistence needed in the game also helped him stay strong and excel in his music career. “It’s the same mental focus, the same mental preparation going into a show as going into a recording session [and] going into a practice—practice makes perfect.”
