Think “Pretty Woman” with the roles reversed and the lead character not as rich as Richard Gere. Debra Messing (of Will & Grace fame) plays Kat, a single New Yorker who hires a sexy male escort to accompany her to London, England for her sister’s wedding. That’s about it, the story in a nutshell, don’t expect any more than that and you won’t be disappointed. I was hoping for some dry British wit when they got over to London and that didn’t happen, which was quite a letdown to me.

The main theme of the film is that appearances are all that matters, with Kat madly obsessing over how she looks to her friends and family at the wedding (kinda sad really). Another theme here is just don’t expect too much. Messing is cute and smiles a lot so she seems to be having a good time and if you like her on Will & Grace you will enjoy the movie as she does light up the screen, if that’s enough for you. Inevitably Kat and her handsome escort Nick fall for each other and happily she doesn’t seem to mind too much what he does for a living- only in Hollywood I say.
