Written by Andy and Larry Wachowski who brought us The Matrix Trilogy

Based on the graphic novel by David Lloyd

The setting is a dark and depressing, futuristic London and the government is corrupt and brutal. London is run by a dictator reminiscent of Hitler who only appears on a huge screen to bark out his orders and intimidate.

Our hero is V, played by Hugo Weaving, who despite being always hidden by a wig and porcelain mask is so human and charismatic that his acting is to be commended as well as his cause. Our heroine is Evey, played by Natalie Portman whose English accent is not overly convincing but her torture and her head being shorn during an incarceration was certainly convincing. Her earnest and anguished, pain filled performance will definitely overshadow your doubts whether she is really from London or not (or just an actress trying to sound British).

Violence and explosions abound as our duo carry on with V’s plan to rid England of this tyrannical government and revenge himself of all who have wronged him. His revenge is quick and unforgiving and trust me, you are right there beside him wishing with all your heart for the downfall of his enemies.

All in all an exciting ride with two characters you easily care for and hope they will be V for Victorious in their quest!!
