I Follow My Brother

by Abdullahi M, Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada, Age 17

I hopelessly hunger for havoc
Let destruction supersede pain,
Inside and out.

and she follows
giving a militant howl
as she desperately desires a delightful death
she lets spiteful, succumbing letters
sire an impossible solace.

I covetously crave caustic dementia
Let pain be prejudiced to pain,
Inside and out.

and she follows
as sinfully sinuous words, slowly
swathe
her psyche
suffusing sub-rosa sentiments
as she simulates a shining smile.

and she gives in to the non-existent pain
with a razor...
...her last words:

"In life, I have followed in my brother's footsteps
In death, I shall do the same."
