She Doesn't

by Natasha R, Danville, California, USA, Age 14

She doesn't even notice me
She doesn't even care
She doesn't even notice me
It's like I'm not even there

Oh, but she notices him alright
Every day
And every night

He causes her heartaches
He causes her pain
She has sleepless nights
That she can't contain

She wakes up early
And goes to bed late
Sometime's she so beat
She can't have lunch
Or dinner dates

And while all this is going on
I sit here, I sit there
Mostly in corners
But not on chairs

I sit and I ponder
About the life that I'm under
But the girl that I wonder about
Has no shame and no doubt
That her mom loves her with all of her heart,
And not just her brother
Who is really good at art

She doesn't even know me
She doesn't even care
She doesn't even notice me
It's like I'm not even there
